Loud noises in middle of the night

Last night I was awoken by by a loud noise that sounded like something fell in the kitchen. Then a few minutes later I smelled what to me smelled like electronics burning. I woke Ray up from a dead sleep and we went exploring. It was then that I noticed the monitor button on my monitor flashing off and on. And the odor was really strong by the computer.

We unplugged it immediately and Ray took it to work today. We are hoping that it is just the power supply. All my graphic programs are on that computer, along with screen caps. I have screen caps saved on external hard drives and on Megaupload but that doesn't help me without the programs to work with them. Right now I am using my daughters laptop, and she has told me that I can download GIMP onto it, but I know nothing about that program.

If the problem with the computer is the motherboard It won't be until after Christmas, means that I will be limited in what I can do graphically for a while. Which sucks because I have the Friends and Lovers challenge over at qaf_challenges to do still. Unfortunately I might have to back out of that one. I will know more tonight.

If you are waiting for graphics from me, please be patient, I will get to them I promise, it just might take me a while.

Edited for Update: Ray just called and said that the computer is fixed. The power supply was the problem. He will be bringing it home later today. I would of went crazy without my graphics programs

I know I have been really absent lately, RL has really gotten out of hand. Since my daughter and her two children have moved into our apartment, things have been really chaotic. Please just nudge me every once in a while to remind me that I have a life outside of grandchildren. It seems that I have become the baby sitter once more.

I was going through some of my older graphic post over at pfodge over on LJ and realized that I've never posted this wallpaper that I made of Emmett anywhere.

We have put our deposit down to hold a suite for the Mexican Riviera Cruise for January of 2011. I know it is a whole year and a few months away, but we will be able to save quite a bit of spending money. The actual cruise itself has to be paid in full by this time next year, gives us plenty of time to pay for it. Our travel agent has got us a good discount.

I have been very neglectful lately when it comes to posting my TBB list over here on IJ. I posted this a few days ago over on LJ and never posted it here. notreallyme10 just posted that Torquere Press has accepted one of her original fic. I am so excited for her. Torquere Press is one of my favorite ebook publishers.

I have read a lot of fanfiction this month. and only one or two ebooks. I still have not finished reading Tempering by Sean Michael yet, which gives you an idea of how much I have been able to actually sit down and read.

I did finish a book that I bought just recently, called Bound Odyssey by Michelle Polaris, from Elloras Cave. I really enjoyed it a lot. A very sensual read. I look forward to reading more from her.

Today I just bought Bound and Determine from Jane Davitt and Alexa Snow, over at Loose-id I've read quite a few books from both of them and have never been disappointed. Going to start that one tonight, or try to.

We have decided to take another cruise. Tomorrow we will be putting the deposit/hold on the room, and after the holidays are over we will start paying for it. We're going to do the Mexican Riviera again, only this time it will be a ten day instead of a seven day, stopping at two more ports of call.

It will be in January of 2011 so we have a year to pay for it. Our travel agent is getting us a pretty good deal. We always sail Princess Cruise line. The service is superb. This will be our 3rd cruise. I can't wait.

I've gone hunting for some Trueblood caps today and found quite a few. I'm playing with them now and might have a Trueblood icon post up later tonight or tomorrow. I have the season one DVD's I really need to cap it. Does anyone have a idea when season 2 will be coming out on DVD?

It's been a good weekend. With the highlight being our anniversary Friday. Tonight I'm going to relax and play with photoshop.

OMG!! i havent' been this shit fased in a loong time. Today is my 29ths. wedding anniversary and we had a very good time. Dinner was great. we went to a great Italian Restaurant. I think i had a bottle of the house wine all by my self. the kids are asleep and it is quiet here. I'm going to make icons while I can.
